Tahoe Truckee Composite Squadron
(NV027)

Lt. Col. Michael Scott, Squadron Commander

Our Squadron Commander is Lt. Col. Michael

Mike Scott joined CAP and the Tahoe Truckee Composite Squadron in July 2007 as a result of a positive experience negotiating facility requirements with the Squadron in his role as the Assistant GM of the Truckee Tahoe Airport District.  He is still the AGM at TRK.

Prior to joining the airport staff in 2002, Mike was an Army Aviation officer.  After graduating from West Point, Mike began his aviation career which concluded with his selection for promotion to Colonel.  Mike commanded Army helicopter units through battalion/squadron level and is qualified in the UH-1, OH-58 (Aeroscout/ reconnaissance), AH-1, and AH-64.  He was an instructor pilot/CFI in the OH-58 and was an Army Flight Crew Coordination trainer.  Mike also served as an operations officer up to Post/Installation level, organizing and implementing post security measures at Ft. Rucker, AL on 9/11.  He spent most of his career in Europe where he served in operational missions in the Balkans and on African contingency operations, notably as the operations officer for one of the largest air assault task forces since the 1960’s.  Mike is also trained as a foreign area specialist for Central Europe and former-Soviet Union and served as the intelligence branch chief for Eurasia in US European Command.

In addition to general management duties at TRK, Mike is responsible for safety/risk management and security.

Mountain Flying Seminar - 01-Dec-2001

To become a Senior member of the Civil Air Patrol you will have to meet some requirements.  Requirements are outlined in Chapter 3 of the Civil Air Patrol Manual 39-2(3).

 ON-LINE CAPT-116 & ICS-100

{Suggestions:
1.  View the Power Point Presentation at: https://tests.cap.af.mil/ops/tests/genes2004.ppt  If you don't have that program on your computer, go to our Training page and scroll to the bottom of that page and select the one you need under "Tools".
2.  BEFORE you click on the button to Grade each test, print out the Test; then, when you get your grade and if you haven't passed, you can click on the button that gives you the correct answers to the questions you missed so you can re-take the test and get your Certificates -- don't forget to PRINT OUT each Certificate -- then FAX, or copy and deliver, to our Squadron Headquarters so they can be entered into your file, etc.}

To obtain a CAP Driver's License, California Drivers need to get a copy of their Driving Record, from the Department of Motor Vehicles, then submit that and a copy of the California Driver's License to our Squadron Commander to be forwarded to Wing.

WARNING:
The information you are receiving is protected from interception or disclosure. Any person who intentionally distributes, reproduces or discloses it contents is subject to the penalties set forth in 18 United States Code Section 2511 and/or related state and federal laws of the United States.
Civil Air Patrol MALL
Here's the direct link to this shopping program - suggest you bookmark this link as a favorite and rename it: "Retail Mall for CAP Donations" because, the opportunity to purchase items from many well-known retailers, with the retailer donating a portion of the sale proceeds back to the Tahoe Truckee Composite Squadron.  The amount of the donation varies with each retailer.  You need to select NEVADA as the state, so that you can then select Tahoe Truckee Composite Squadron for this to work for our Squadron; once you have done that each time you return to the site it "should" have our Squadron at the top of the page so you don't have to go through the above procedure each time -- probably only works that way when using the same computer.
